寫出來的英文句子意思總是有點模糊? 練習把關鍵資訊描述清楚
昨天有個在半導體廠工作的學生傳給我一段他寫的書信,
問我有沒有需要改進的地方
裡面我看到一句話:
🎈 News from XX department indicates that the subsequent substrate will be postponed
對應到中文是想表達:
從XX部門來的消息說後續使用的基板材料會延期
不過我看到這句英文第一個反應就是:
所以是甚麼東西要被延期?
(因為基板材料本人無法被延期呀XD)
到底是想講:
👉 到貨時間 (the arrival)?
👉 交付時間 (the delivery)?
👉 還是生產時間 (the production)?
其實這句話如果是寫給很了解這個專案狀況的同事大概不會有問題,
因為彼此可能有足夠默契,
或是消息靈通知道對方在講甚麼
但如果今天希望可以把具體狀況描述得更精確,
讓就算是局外人也知道在指甚麼的話
可以練習把關鍵資訊寫更清楚

所以原本那句話如果要描述更明確,
根據不同的實際狀況,可以寫說:
🔑 the arrival of the substrate will be postponed
基板材料的到貨會延期
🔑 the delivery of the substrate will be postponed
基板材料的交付會延期
🔑 the production of the substrate will be postponed
基板材料的生產會延期
這樣句子也變得更高級一點點啦~~
