最近有部韓劇《夫妻的世界》 (The world of the married) 很紅
在講夫妻一方出軌後彼此感情破裂，並報復對方的故事。

其實我對背叛類的主題 (infidelity and cheating) 不太有興趣
但我很好奇觀眾為什麼喜歡這部劇

畢竟韓劇裡講背叛、報復的劇很多
表示這部劇有他出眾的地方

這兩天滑了一些中英文劇評＆觀眾心得

發現不管是英文人士或台灣人，
在討論劇情的時候想表達的東西不會差很多呢

而且我覺得讀英文劇評 (review) 好有趣，
用字不會太難

可以學到好多形容詞用法，
跟怎麼用英文描述自己的感想

(而不只是說 I like it, it’s great, … 然後詞窮)

也可以順便觀察觀眾在意的點是甚麼

歸納一下大家喜歡這部劇的原因

角色個性刻劃用心 (The characters are well crafted)

一般韓劇角色個性很鮮明 (have distinctive qualities)

壞人總是自私、充滿缺點 (selfish and deeply flawed)
好人遇到誘惑不會動搖 (aren’t swayed by the surroundings)

但夫妻的世界這部劇裡面
不管男主女主配角都不是純粹好人 (moral characters) 或壞人 (mean spirited characters)
他們都有血有肉 (complex and fleshed out)
聰明但也會做蠢事 (smart but downright stupid at times)

特別喜歡某段劇評點出關於人性脆弱 (frail humanity) ：

She says that she’s doing all she can to have only her husband out of her life, but isn’t how she plots, schemes and takes revenge against him showing that she is still obsessed with him?
太太說要在先生背叛後努力過沒有他的生活，但她這樣不斷想方設法報復先生，不正說明她還離不開這段關係？

也許是這樣走不出的狀況讓觀眾更有共鳴 (The way she dwells resonates with the audience)

人總是沒有自己想得那麼堅強 (we’re not as strong as we think we are)

劇情貼近真實人生

有觀眾說裡面的角色都很瘋狂 (crazy and psychotic)
但驚人的是這些角色還是滿貼近生活的
(what makes it scarier is that, the characters are also very much lifelike.)

特別是他呈現很多夫妻在關係裡會遇到的困難
(represents dilemmas all couples go through)
讓人不知不覺可以同理為什麼這些事會發生
(you can’t help but relate and sometimes understand what and why it happens)

劇末導演沒有為了討好觀眾美化結局
(didn’t sugarcoat the ending to please the audience)
也沒有讓壞人馬上得到報應
(don’t get the karma fast)

他只是真實呈現大家人生怎麼繼續往下走
(show them how real life consequences unravel)

滿喜歡 life goes on 這樣的想法呢

雖然沒看過這部劇，但寫完感覺我跟它很熟XD
